To main­tain and en­hance im­mu­ni­ty of in­fants and chil­dren, Hong Kong De­part­ment of Health makes rec­om­men­da­tions of ‘Hong Kong Child­hood Im­mu­ni­sa­tion Pro­gramme (HK­CIP)’ to the tar­get group to re­ceive dif­fer­ent types of vac­cines and boost­ers to pro­tect them from com­mu­ni­ca­ble dis­eases. How­ev­er, some fa­tal dis­eases are not in­clud­ed in the pro­gramme such as Ro­tavirus, Haemophilus In­fluen­zae Type B, Japan­ese En­cephali­tis, etc.

To maintain and enhance immunity of infants and children, Hong Kong Department of Health makes recommendations of ‘Hong Kong Childhood Immunisation Programme (HKCIP)’ to the target group to receive different types of vaccines and boosters to protect them from communicable diseases. However, some fatal diseases are not included in the programme such as Rotavirus, Haemophilus Influenzae Type B, Japanese Encephalitis, etc.
