Mrs Smith sprained her back while doing household chores, barely movable afterwards due to the severe pain. Her son has her sent to public hospital where she was given some injections for pain relief and some physiotherapy. The pain was still unbearable after two days of treatment and X-rays was not conclusive as to the cause of the pain. Her son called our emergency medical service hotline. Our nurse then arranged an ambulance to transfer her to a private hospital. On arrival, our neurosurgeon was already there to assess her, the initial diagnosis was prolapse intervertebral disc (the jelly between vertebral bones compressing on some nerves). A MRI done immediately confirmed the diagnosis. A minimal invasive endoscopic spine surgery was done and pain was completely resolved after the operation. She was discharged in 2 days time.
Bryan sprained his ankle while playing a pickup game in basketball. He was sent to the emergency room by an ambulance. There, he recognized the waiting time is very long. He called his insurance agent who contacted us via instant messaging software. We immediately arranged our orthopaedic surgeon to see him in a nearby private hospital, did an X-ray for him and found out he had fractures of his metatarsals (bones in foot). Operation was done without hassles and he was discharged in a few days time, minimizing his wait and worries.
3-year-old Aaron cried suddenly after dinner, bending forward with his hand on his tummy. Mom was helpless. Dad found our emergency contact on the web and contacted us. Our nurse arranged our paediatrician and surgeon to see Aaron in out patient in the private hospital. After assessment, it was not an Acute abdomen (an emergency abdominal condition requiring surgery). He was admitted to the paediatric ward and had further tests and treatment under our paediatrician. It was viral gastroenteritis and he was discharged two days later, returning to his usual, energetic self.
