接種流感疫苗是最有效的預防方法，讓身體產生足夠的抗體來抵禦病毒入侵。由於流感病毒不斷變化，每年世界衛生組織都會提出下年度流感疫苗的組成，並針對北半球及南半球有不同的建議。
今年， 世界衛生組織建議2021/22年度北半球流感疫苗覆蓋以下四種病毒株：
• 類甲型/維多利亞/2570/2019 (H1N1)pdm-09病毒
• 類甲型/柬埔寨/e0826360/2020 (H3N2)病毒
• 類乙型/華盛頓/02/2019 (乙型/維多利亞世系)病毒
• 類乙型/布吉/3073/2013 (乙型/山形世系)病毒
四價流感疫苗納入兩種屬甲型的流感病毒（H1N1和H3N2），和兩種乙型的流感病毒；世衞的年度建議是依賴持續的全球監測系統，收集不同地區和社群蔓延的流感病毒的資料，並評估上一年度疫苗的有效性。
噴鼻式流感疫苗亦稱減活流感疫苗（英文簡稱：LAIV）噴鼻劑。與注射式流感疫苗有別，噴鼻疫苗以被減弱的病毒所配製而成。接種噴鼻疫苗後會模仿感染的自然過程，接種後的常見副作用包括鼻塞、流鼻水、發燒和喉嚨痛等，但亦因此提供更強和更持久的保護。
噴鼻式流感疫苗適合2 歲至49歲的人士接種，但以下人士則不宜接種：
• 對任何疫苗成分或接種任何流感疫苗後曾出現嚴重過敏反應
• 正服用亞士匹林或含水楊酸鹽藥物的兒童和青少年
• 患有哮喘或在過去12個月內曾患上喘鳴的兩歲至四歲兒童
• 因任何原因導致免疫功能減弱的兒童及成人
• 免疫系統嚴重受抑制而需在受保護的環境下接受護理的人士之緊密接觸者和照顧者
• 懷孕
• 在過去 48 小時曾服用流感抗病毒藥物
建議以下高危人士優先接種流感疫苗:
• 醫護人員 (包括安老院舍和殘疾人士院舍的護理人員)
• 50 歲或以上的人士
• 孕婦
• 居於護理院舍 (例如安老院舍和殘疾人士院舍) 的人士
• 有長期健康問題的人士
• 6 個月至 11 歲兒童
• 家禽業從業員
• 從事養豬或屠宰豬隻行業的人士
「疫苗資助計劃」是一項透過私家醫生參與為香港居民提供資助接種季節性流感的計劃。參加計劃的醫生為合資格人士提供疫苗接種 (包括注射式疫苗及噴鼻式疫苗)，政府會給予醫生疫苗資助額$240。本中心是疫苗資助計劃下的合資格診所，詳情可向我們的護士查詢。

Beat the Flu, Reserve Flu Vaccine Now
World Health Organization recommended that quadrivalent vaccines for use in the 2021-22 northern hemisphere influenza season contain the following:
• A/Victoria/2570/2019 (H1N1)pdm09-like virus
• A/Cambodia/e0826360/2020 (H3N2)-like virus
• B/Washington/02/2019 (B/Victoria lineage)-like virus
• B/Phuket/3073/2013 (B/Yamagata lineage)-like virus
Nasal Spray Flu Vaccine
Nasal Spray Flu Vaccine is also known as Live-attenuated Influenza Vaccine (English: LAIV). As opposed to the flu shot, LAIV contains weakened viruses and is given by intranasal spray. The nasal spray simulates natural infection through the nose, and may be able to induce strong class=”font-bold”er and long-lasting immune protection. But on the other hand, because of greater immune response, it could generate more side effects such as runny nose.
Nasal spray flu vaccine is applicable to persons aged between 2 years and 49 years. However, the LAIV should not be given to individuals, if they have any of the following conditions:
• Pregnant women
• People with a history of a severe allergic reaction to any ingredient of the vaccine or a previous dose of any influenza vaccine
• Concomitant aspirin or salicylate-containing therapy in children and adolescents
• Children 2 years through 4 years who have asthma or who have had a history of wheezing in the past 12 months
• Children and adults who are immunocompromised due to any cause
• Close contacts and caregivers of severely immunosuppressed persons who require a protected environment
• People who have taken flu antiviral drugs within previous 48 hours.

Recommends the following high-risk priority groups for influenza vaccination:
• Healthcare workers (including care workers in Residential Care Homes for the Elderly [RCHE] and Residential Care Homes for Persons with Disabilities [RCHD])
• Persons aged 50 years or above
• Pregnant women
• Residents of Residential Care Homes (such as RCHE or RCHD)
• Persons with chronic medical problems
• Children aged 6 months to 11 years
• Poultry workers
• Pig farmers and pig-slaughtering industry personnel

The Vaccination Subsidy Scheme (VSS) is a subsidized vaccination scheme for Hong Kong residents against seasonal influenza vaccine through the participation of private doctors.
Enrolled doctors provide vaccinations (including Inactivated Influenza Vaccine and Nasal Spray Flu Vaccine) to eligible persons. A vaccination subsidy of HK $240 will be reimbursed by the Government.
