乳癌是本港女性最常見的癌症。在接受乳房手術及癌症治療（如電療）後，病人的上肢功能或會受到限制，亦有部份病人會出現上肢淋巴水腫的情況。全面的術前教育及術後物理治療可有效地改善病人的上肢功能。
淋巴水腫是指因豐富蛋白質的組織液積聚而形成的水腫。整合性退腫治療是現存最有效針對淋巴水腫的治療。透過減低肢體體積、減少纖維化組織及提升健康淋巴組織的功能，此療法可有效地改善淋巴水腫的嚴重程度。
Breast cancer is the commonest cancer among females in Hong Kong. Patients may experience a decrease in upper limb function and develop upper limb lymphedema after breast surgery and cancer treatment (e.g. radiotherapy). Through comprehensive preoperative education and post operative physiotherapy, patients’ upper limb function can be significantly improved.
Lymphedema is the tissue swelling caused by accumulation of protein-rich fluid. Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) is the current best treatment for lymphedema, which effectively decreases severity of lymphedema by reducing limb volume and fibrosis, and optimizing the healthy lymphatic system.
