Event Highlight: HPV Testing & Health Seminar — Helping Women Move from Awareness to Action

2026-04-16

Organized by YWCA Project GenSHE and supported by Chiron Medical and FemWell, the first session of the health seminar "Preventing HPV Infection and Cervical Cancer in Daily Life" was successfully held.

With "Act Early" as its core theme, the event combined professional medical knowledge with free HPV urine testing and support services, helping women turn awareness into action and strengthen cervical health management.

Dr. Leung Yuk Luen Frances, Emergency Medicine Specialist at Chiron Medical, delivered the seminar in a clear and accessible way. She explained HPV characteristics, high‑risk types, and their link to cervical cancer, while addressing common misconceptions such as infection risks, vaccination timing, and prevention methods. Dr. Leung also emphasized the importance of cervical screening, noting that regular check‑ups are key to early detection and improved treatment outcomes.

As supporting partners, we provided not only professional medical information but also guidance on interpreting test results and arranging follow‑up care. By combining health education with practical testing support, the initiative encourages women to take proactive steps, build regular screening habits, and reduce health risks.

Looking ahead, Chiron and FemWell will continue collaborating with YWCA to launch more women's health activities and screening programmes, further promoting community health awareness.
